I have a problem with my Head unit and it has to do with an unfortunate mistake.
I was installing the new head unit along with an amp and sub and it was all going sweet until it came time to turn it all on. The head unit worked fine, the sud was working perfectly sitting on the back seat, un boxed. But after we spent the better part of 2 hrs mounting it in the position of the factory sub (JZZ30s have them on the shelf behind the back seat in the middle of the shelf) and running the wiring to it we turned it on and got a fucked up noise, really loud buzz and crack all at once.
Turned it off really quick and inspected all the wiring to make sure it wasn't a crossed wire or something stupid like that and found the 2 terminals on the back of the sub (positive and negative)were touching the metal frame of the car. So we thought we had fucked the amp. Tested the sub and amp on another head unit , worked fine , tried a different amp and sub on the head unit in my car, same gay noise...
Tried the other line out on the head unit same gay noise occurred. Any idea what I've fucked up? Is there a suppressor built into he line outs that i have screwed and if thats the problem does anyone know how much this might set me back to get fixed?
