Wheel weight reduction steeel->alloy

Hey all,
This might be a noob question. I'm currently on 14" stock Toyota Steelies with a plastic hubcaps. If i were to change the to the stock 14" SX Alloys. Would i experience significant/noticable difference in the performance/ economy of the car? I was thinking alloys are alot lighter than steels; so the weight reduction would = better economy /response...
cheers

In theory, yes. In practice, you won't notice it.

I've got a spare set of 14" stock st162 mags you could buy off me if you want. 2 of the tyres are in excellent condition while the other 2 are kinda average.

its a seca that he has and not celica btw
as for bathroom scale, this is what i do when weighing my luggage for flight.
1. weigh urself
2. weigh urself holding the rims (baggage in my case)
3. Calculate the weight difference!!

The rims from the ST model of the ST162 are four stud, the SX ST162 model were 5 stud. Confused yet ?

Maybe, but maybe it was more cost cutting / efficiency by Toyota. I'm pretty sure that the ST model had rear drum brakes while the SX had four wheel disc's.
