Allan,

Will this work in-conjunction with an Air/Fuel Ratio Controller?

PS. I live in the Hills District aswell

Um... I am not sure. I dont see why it couldnt work in conjunction with an AF ratio controller... Have you adjusted your air fuel ratio through out the rev range on the dyno have you? If so, then I would say this could alter that adjustment a small amount. I would imagine you could re-adjust it on the dyno or check to make sure its still ok once you have fitted a FCD fairly easily though....
You see I didnt have this fitted to my Supra whilst I had the car, but the previous owner did and didnt tell me about it. 2.5 years later I saw the FCD advertised, and the previous owner was the guy advertising, so I bought it with the view of fitting it so my supra could run 15 psi like I just found out the car used too.. Razz But then I sold the car before I had a chance to fit it.
I can talk further to you about it on the phone if you want?
Cheers,
Allan.

hehe I just realised who you are Allan, you live up the road Laughing

Anyway I'm installing a Lexus AFM/550's in the coming weeks and I assume that will raise fuel cut a little? However I'm aiming to run 15psi reliably and I may or may not need an FCD...

What are your thoughts?

From what I have heard the lexus AFM will raise the fuel cut to atleat 15 psi. So i dont think you will be needing a FCD.
You are putting the Lexus V8 injectors in also arent you?? Cos I think it will run lean otherwise...
Cheers,
Allan.

Oh right, so 15psi should be quite achievable without it?

Well I am going to put in the 550cc injectors just to be safe... I could always use the AFR to adjust the current 440's to be 25% richer, but I'm not sure how long they would last.

I was also reading over my S-AFR manual and they suggest only their HKS FCD be used inconjunction with the unit... I'm not sure if I completely believe them tho Confused

Thanks for your feedback anyway, apprciated.

To do COD, u go to the post office and u tell em u wanna send it COD. Then the post office person will give u some forms to fill out, and u work out how much to collect off the person. And then u pay postage or whatever and thats it.

ezekiel,
Ive heard of people running 18+psi with the lexus/550s and no FCD. See how much the AFM rases the boost cut limit first.

And how much did you get your AFM/550s for?

Ideally I'd like to get a VPC or AEM and remove the AFM altogether, but I'm not convinced my engine with 182+ kms/stock HG would be worth the upgrade. Lexus/550 are only a short-term mod, till she stops kicking.

Sourcing the Lexus AFM through Just Jap, but they do not have a spare in stock, so price is still TBA.

sorry to hijack the thread, but... call JMS in adelaid. I enquired about a lexus AFM a few weeks ago and they said they had one left for about $200 (but he wasnt 100% certain about the price coz the boss wasnt there).
But for $200, thats a good price i reckon. give em a call.

And let me know how the mod goes. And dont push the stock CT26 past 15psi Smile

hahahah, naaa. to be honest ive never boosted past 10psi, and even then it was on very few runs. but now with the head gasket issue resolved, and my nice lil AVCR (which i still have to install)... thats all gonna change. wouldnt push past 13psi on stock fuel system though.
