water leak help

Have a water leak from below the thermostat housing, im guessing the gasket is gone but to get a closer look im wondering how to get the damn thing off.
Red arrow indicates the cause of leak, well what its come down too atm
Green arrow is im wondering if this pipe slides out either end ?
Has anyone had any experience at pulling it off or any ideas of how to remove?
i have looked at removing the 2 bolts to the top left but theres still the water pipe connected to it further down, and its very very hard to get on the other side to remove the bolt.
Next picture below just shows an expanded view of what im actually talking about.
