my brake light keep coming on....

no, not the parking brake light
the brake light
all it says is BRAKE, and is seems to come on randomly
first noticed the problem at saturday's cruise, it would come on when hammering hard around a corner.
but this morning it happily popped on and off at random. on the way home it kept itself hidden, but I am a little worried.
what does it all mean?! (car is an RA65 if that makes a difference)
