If i am understanding what i am reading correctly, is it perfectly plausible to use the shockers out of an AE86 and put them in a RA40?
I want to putfully adjustable suspension in my RA40 (with the corona strut upgrade done to it). Rob has already helped me out a fair bit with this already (and a legend he is).
but trying to understand this for myself i have come to 2 conclusions.
As the shock absorber is separate to the spring, i could get a shock absorber for an AE86 as they seem to be easier to get parts for, and they seem to be the same one as used in the RA40 according to the KONI catalogue. I can then get separate RA40 springs because they have a different code to the AE86. combine them together to get adjustable ride feel but nt height.
then as money permits, i could get an adjustable coil over kit down the track but still retain the shock absorber due to the parts being seperate, combining the absorber and coil over kit for a fully adjustable ride.
Am i understanding this correctly or is the coil over kit a completely different kettle of fish to a spring/absorber assembly.
do I understand right, am i on the right track or am i barking up the wrong tree?
cheers
