Well, I was up in the hills (top of Greenmount Hill, in Perth, visiting folks), and decided to take the sorta back way home for fun, since the MR2's got some catching up to do in the getting-action stakes.
I'm just at the start of my usual run (Leithdale Rd -> Glen Rd -> Victor Rd -> Clayton Rd -> Scott St -> Helena Valley Rd, try it sometime, bumpy but fun) and I see tail lights disappearing off into the distance. Great, thinks I, yet another drive ruined by a pleb driving slowly. Only these tail lights aren't moving slowly. At all. Long story short, and omitting to mention at least one brown trouser moment (I need narrower shoes, the accelerator and brake are way too close together), I finally caught the car as we got to Scott St. It was an old (I think) Corona, blue, stocker looking. Obviously knows the road and his car very well indeed - this drive was my 'home track' when I lived in the hills, although I've only driven it once or twice in the last year. I'm hoping this was a fellow Toymodder... anyone get chased by an MR2 with one headlight? If so I look forward to a rematch once I've got fresh tyres on the MR2. Anyway, whoever you are, mate, you have my respect.
Then halfway home I see a couple of guys in a hatchi. They do a u-turn just to say 'hi' to the old MR2... jeez oldskool toy fans are a friendly bunch!
Anyway, just thought I'd share.
