I have had a replacement FWD Auto put into my Nova/Corolla, which thuds when going up into 2nd gear from 1st (with an exception being when the car's temperature is about half way up the dial)...
The "mood" of the 1st-2nd shift changes with the temperature of the oil... When hot, it is smooth, when warm/cold it is a thudding nuisance!
The 2nd-3rd change is nice and smooth though.
Now, after 4 months of using the car like this, with only about 15 or so high-rev shifts from 1st to 2nd. There is traces of silver on the dipstick...
If I take off quick and get to high revs the shift is stupidly quick, infact, my poor 67Kw 4AFC nearly shits itself as the tranny drops it way back down in the rev range heheh.
Question:
Anyone know what is causing this shift to be so quick?
The auto was over-filled by a mechanic...
I can see bubbles on the dipstick after a hot day, or a hard day's driving.
Could the increase in fluid level cause this quick shift?
PRICES? Anyone had the clutches replaced, solenoids fixed etc?
Thanks in Advance!
