An engineer has told me if we can do the maths and prove the centroid of the 1g engine isn't that much different to the 18RC then I might be able to convince Transport SA that I don't need to have braking and lane change testing done for approval. This would mean a saving of about $600-$700 dollars.
So does anyone know the dimensions and masses of the two engines?
I can also get bonus points if I show that the engine was in a car that also had the option of an 18R type engine.
So do I have this right? the 1 g engine was in a early supra (GA70?) that was the same chassis base as an RA65 celica, which had an 18RG engine. is that right, how badly am I clutching at straws.
