Heya all...
Im looking at importing some stuff from the states, problem is shipping is way $$ for individual items (as youd probably know if youve done it in the past). HOWEVER, Ive got a mate in Salem MA whos been doing some looking for me, and he reckons the cheapest way to bring some gear over is in a weight unlimited box, of dimensions 3' x 3' x 5'... to ship such a sized box to sydney will cost US$250.
now that might seem like a lot, but if i can get say 50 items in there for different people, that brings shipping rates down to US$5 per item, which is pretty bloody cheap, esp considering that included HEAVY items. of course, we can pro rata that amount for different items etc.
SOOO.... if you want to buy something off ebay, if you want to buy something from some US performance store, if you want to buy something online, or youre planning on getting something directly from a US manufacturer, this could be your chance to do it without cvrazy shipping prices. this is esp good for heavier items which are normally subject to prohibitive freight.
