short answer is no...

Long answer is yes but...

Why on earth would you need a 6 speed on a ra28???

what motor are you running???

There are no gearboxes that will bolt up to the standard R block... you can get adapter plates made however...

Or you could fitt an altessa 3SGE BEAMS Motor complete with 6 speed J160 box

Well I would say dont bother....

You can take it to a transmission place and get them to make up an adapter plate but you will still need to source a box... If you are interested then your best bet is to look for a J160 box of the toyota rs200 altessa... Its the same 6 speed box thats on the s15 silvia...

I anlt say to use this box as it has similar dimensions to the stock W5X box

alos you might need tomcut out the drive tunnel and make a new one as the T and R series tunnels are not all that big... as mentioned too the gear stick goes back and would be just cm from the hand brake so that might need to go back a bit too...

i am considering the Altezza box for my TA22 but no final decision yet. the only reason im considering that box is cause i get everything done for free (cutting firewall/tunnel, fitting and tail shaft)

Hi

I have a 6 speed in my TA23. It is of course behind a 1ggte. Yes you can do it, and yes there are some difficulties. Have a bit of a search as I wrote a long article on it som months ago.

The search reference is corrupt, so do a search on ddeane in tech and conversions and look at the 4th item down about 21 August.

Ok, found it, thanks.
That is for putting it behind a 1G right? not a 2T/3T like the subject says?
Also, how much further back is the shifter compared to stock?
