1G-G with 3 sidedrafts?

hey guys, we all know that i have a complete 1G-GTE minus most of the intake/exhuast bits..and i also have a good start on a couple of pairs of Mikuni solex sidedrafts (18R-G ones)
the 18R in the RN41 lux is farked, so the plan is..it's all about being different nowdays right?
so..i'm not after crazy HP, just an bit of a show Lux thats all drive it to work everynow and again..still have enough torque tow a car trailer to Queensland raceway *maybe*
put the 1G in the lux, with tripple sidedrafts, i know the GTE motor is decompressed, so i either
A) new pistons and rings from i think i heard somewhere on here a B16A honda, or swap someone for some 1GGE ones??
b) deck the head and maybe the block, and get a timing belt made just one tooth smaller so it won't bottom out the tensioner (if it needs to be decked that much)
i just want to bump up the comp to what a normal NA motor would..around 9.5:1 os so..
convert the Dizzy to a normal older school elec type (like the EFI 18R-G ones)
and i have myself a nice sounding 6 in my hilux, i know that even after i get the mandatory dyno tune done it will be a little thursty on the fuel, but hey, if it gets me that Orgasmic 18R-G carby induction noise, i'm a very happy little vegimite

You could pick up a 1GGE for 200. Why bother with all that work on a 1GGTE?

it think it would be a great idea apart from the fact the you might have to jet down the carbies because on the 18r-g each carby is delivering fuel to 2 cylinders (1000cc) so each barrel of the carby is delivering fuel to 500cc. on the 1g, the displacement of each cylinder is 333cc so u will have problems with it running rich. once its jetted down accordingly, it would be great
be different give it a go

The pistons aren't from the B16, they are from the earlier D-series ones.

Anyway this has all been done before. Big money (tens of thousands) was spent for the same result you might expect from a stock BEAMS 3SGE with the standard ECU.
Chat to Steve Newing from Speed Technology. He had one in a Datsun 1200 coupe (I think).

Can't remember the exact specifics, just remembered that the B16A has massive bores compared to the 1G.

Now it's time for my opinion
Don't do it because you want it to go hard, or because it will be cheap. Do it because you want to, it could be a bit of fun. To begin with, any car you actually care too much about the outcome of should never have carbs
Start with a cheap 1G-GE, fit the carbs, polish everything, etc. and be happy. If you want it to actually go a bit harder, you'd need custom hi-comp pistons, cams, headwork, etc. anyway - but I'm guessng you don't want to spend that much, or worry yourself that much with it anyway. Do it because NA engines are cool
