Replacement 7M-GE, Need Advice!!!

Hi all,
Have a 91 MX83 cressida that's been giving me alot of overheating headaches of late, looks like it might be a gasket/cracked head (although my existing one has only done 167000kms and had the gasket done march this year)
I'm now weighing up my options, i've been talking to the family financial loans officer (my dad  ) and i'm looking at the possiblity of just pulling this engine and installing an import 7M-GE, as if anything else its going to be faster to replace the whole motor than f*ck about having the head reparied and rebuilt AGAIN, waiting etc..
Can anyone help me with info on this? Where did you get your motor from? Approx how much should it cost? Warranty? Can anyone recommend an engine supplier in queensland??
I was thinking a budget of $2000 might scrape in- say $500 fitting, $500 shipping (remember i'm in north qld so the motors likley to have to come from brisbane at minimum..) and approx $1000 for the actual motor.
This may sound stupid, but would a 7M-GTE conversion be feasable on a budget of say $3000?
One final quesiton, i've seen the supra 7M-GE's use a different inlet design to the cressida ones (the throttle body seems to be located closer to the airflow meter and there is a dual pipe into the inlet plenum vs the cressies that have the throttle body further down, right up against the inlet plenum- is there a worthwhile power difference from this?)
sorry for all the questions guys (& girls..), i'd cetainly appreciate everyones input. Is this a good idea?
