Toyota New Zealand have purchased 20 brand new custom built open wheeler chassis (built by Tatuus to F3 specs) for a new open wheel race series here in NZ.
The chassis will be powered by a 2ZZGE modified to 200hp n/a. All chassis will be loaned out by toyota or can be purchased and the motors will all be built right here in NZ by one company. They have also purchased a 500sq/m warehouse to store all the cars here in Auckland. Looks like they have put ALOT of money behind this series.
Anyway, the racing starts very soon with some big NZ racing names lining up (Wade Cunningham, Danial Grant, James Cressy and Tim Edgell) . And the motors are already revving right out to 8000rpm in pre-testing.
