What diffratio do you have?
What gearbox?
How much Hilux weights?
I guess brick is more aerodynamic than hilux.

Not much you can do
The Hilux is a heavier car,
And as Jayem said,. combine that with poor aerodynamics and bad ratios, your not going to have a fast car..
The hilux is geared to carry loads, not to rev at 7500rpm all day.
Maybe someone on here could suggest a diff upgrade, or try a search..

Its a chance you have either an F or more likely a G series diff in your Hilux with a 4.900 ratio, and your truck weighs around 1800kg. Match that with a 1100kg Celica with a 4.1 diff and you will get no where near it. 4.9 is lovely for lugging loads but not much else.
Read the built plate on the firewall and tell us the diff and its numbers. You can get a 4.3 and 4.555 in a G series diff, and this will help your acceleration.
