I don't think it'll fiot your corolla mate, It's FWD isn't it? Different gearbox then.

Something I've been meaning to ask, I have a W57 and W58 in my shed, and they have different shifters. my shifter from the W57 wouldn't fit the W58, the big ball is bigger (or smaller - I can't remember) on the W58.

Anyone know why? I thought all the shifter housings would've been the same? Also, the W58 has some sort of sensor in the top with wires comming out. I have no idea what this is but I thought perhaps a speed sensor? It has the reverse switch and the speedo cable in the normal spots.

Tim.

There are 4 different shifter positions available but all utilise the same actual shifter. I am not sure what 2 boxes or shifters you have but I can assure you they are the same. (To the best of my knowledge)
This shifter will fit any box listed above with any shifter position.(Except some W58 boxes that have a remote shifter)

LEVIN GTV - Yeah mate sorry it wont fit your vehicle.

mycarhasposessedme - Mate its an off the shelf item with machined parts. Fulcrum point has been modified for a nice quick clean shift.

Here is a picture of the shifter, it was for sale here not long ago, I am selling due to needing a custom shifter shaft, one with no bend. (My gearbox sits quite far back in the tranny tunnel). But this one will fit any stock gearbox setup.

Yeah, That's what I used to think. I took some pics.

Take a look, maybe you can make sense of it. I don't know what car the W58 came out of.

the ball on the left is from the W57 (I think this is the normal size, the shifter on the right fits in my W58.

hjere is the pic of the boxes. Not very good cause of the light.

RA28 - I can sort of see what you mean, but agree the pic isnt the best. The ball parts dont look that different in size, maybe a few mill?

1200det - No idea on brand mate, it's not marked anywhere, but it is very well made though.

Ok I'll post this out here then.
$200 is the highest so far. Unlike some I'm not interested in making money here, so lets not get carried away. $200 was the asking price so who wants it?

Shit I wish I had 10 of these puppies!

My gearbox has now gone to sulk, mumbling something about lack of recognition.

Well I have a few other jobs on at the moment, so the short shifter development has been put on the back burner for a while.

Having said this, I would expect to start making them before the end of the year....
