hi guys
a bit of background:
i recently acquired an 81 corona xx sedan (xt130). my mate didnt want it anymore and asked if i did, seeing as i had plenty of space in the yard, i thought why not i might need it for parts or something some day

anyways, 2yrs or so later i started to wonder if it still works. got it started (ask me in reply if u wnana know how that went) but when driving it around i noticed when first taking off or reapplying throttle after lifting off, drive takes a while to kick in ie. the engine revs like in neutral, b4 it starts moving. (its an auto btw).

any help me troubleshoot and diagnose the problem?

i dont really want to take it to a mechanic seeing as redbook tells me the car is worth 800-1800 and they usually overprice, so i dont wanna spent to much money on it.

would it be worth it to source a tranmission from a wrecker or a recondidtioned one, if that is the problem? there are no real other problems. (u can ask me if ud like me to list em, i dont wanna make a long post unnecessarily longer).

thanks for any info at all
