hehehe, dude, these are 1. hard to get,
2. find me another one for that price that is only
1.5kg, and 2cm thin, when i was lookin for one took me ages
sure they are all powerfully, but they are chunky ass ugly laptops
this one actually looks good and is compact as, thats what i was lookin for thats what i paid for...
i'm open for offers but no way couple of grand off...
they did test on them as well when it came out and it outran certain more MGHz processors laptops .. so its not always just the processor size that matters but the whole setup

I cant believe i have to put up wit dis crap...
IF u dont want it don buy it
the example that u posted is 3KILOS minimum weight and 4CM THICK
its huge
AND EXACTLY, THE SPECS ARE WAY HIGHER,
but mine is a specialized notebook thats extremely small thin and lightweight
thats what u'r paying for, with the money i spent on that one i could have baught a P4 2.2 gig note book but i don want a 15inch screen 5cm thick 5 kg monster, coz i dont need a replacement desktop i have a computer at home i need a notebook to take around
cheers i included the pic of the one u posted so if anyone is interested in buying it, go to www.compaq.com.au

finally u get it
because i wanted a buisness notebook for uni
its light ass, thin as small as, i was searchin for ages
thats what u payin for, as i said i dont need a desktop replacement i need a portable machine not a chunky ass laptop that has a 2 gig processor in it
so i dont think i've overpriced it, i'd let it go for $3000
and thats exactly what they'r sellin for so i did my homework dont u worry but thanx for the input anyway

Eviljack,
I used to sell these when i used to work for laptop land/ Mercury IT. At the time they were selling for $5895 + $1250 for the Mobile expansion base with the combo CDRW/DVD that Freaky has.
I'm a toshiba man all the way as i currently work for Toshiba but $3700 is a little much but $3000 is a more fair price.

Have you seen the Toshiba Tablet PC its built much better.
Toshiba: P3 1.3Ghz, 256Mb, 40Gb, 56K, Lan, WiFi, 12.1" TFT RRP $4840
Compaq: Crusoe 1Ghz, 256Mb, 30Gb, 56K, Lan, WiFi, 10.4" TFT RRP $3795
Yes the Compaq is a $1000 cheaper but ask the CEO of Microsoft which he bought. It may not seem like you get a huge amount more for your $1000 but if you have ever used a laptop with Crusoe CPU you will now how crap they are.
Performance comparison:
P3 1Ghz = P3 1Ghz
Cr 1Ghz = P3 750Mhz
PS. I can get Compaq laptops cheap aswell

Weight
Toshiba= 1.8Kg
Compaq = 1.76Kg (when you include battery weight)
I think they both look good but when you look at the Compaq close up it looks cheap and flimmsy.
I can get cameras too.

May or may not be of interest,
I just purchased at an auction the following,
Toshiba Portege 7200
P3 600 SpeedStep
320megs RAM
12 gig drive
Onboard Modem and Infrared
DVD Docking bay with floppy, network etc.
All the gadgets... etc...
$1090
Pretty happy with myself, was looking at nasty old machines that are bricks, this Portege is about 2.2cm thick, and weighs nothing... perfect for school.
