jeffro RA28 Regular Location: Tamworth Registered: August 2004	Ignition troubles on TA23, 2t. Thu, 17 February 2005 10:12 G'day, im just getting my dd ta23 ready for a blue slip. I am having problems with the ignition. When i start the car i have to hold the key on the start position or it will die. If i turn the key any further the starter motor jsut hits the flywheel. So in order to move my car anywhere i have to hold the key on. If i hold the throttle on a bit and then keep turning the car to the start position it backfires hardcore. Also i noticed that the tacho does not work wen this happens. So i am thinking it is a bit deeper down then the barrel. Or could it be 2 different problems? However i just had the complete dash and instruments out and they worked fine before and recently after putting them back together. I kinda of have to hold the key half way between turning the starter motor and to the ON position which is 1 back from the START position. It is kinda an on and off thing and comes and goes, except this time it hasnt gone. I have tried using some spare barrel electrics of my other ta23 that i am wrecking. However this was to no advantage. Unless my spare barrel electrics were stuffed to. Would any 1 be able to tell me where i can locate the problem? Or how i may be able to fix it?
