Hi. I'm currently having problems with my GTE.
I have recently had my exhaust manifold re-made because the old manifold was a real pos plus the drain was too low causing oil to push its way out the turbo. I'm running the standard ECU which i've heard has no problems in turbo form. My problem is that since the manifold has been re-done I have been getting fuel cut on lowish boost (7-10psi) at only about 5-5500rpm. I never had any problem on the old manifold running about 14psi daily. I have a feeling the old manifold was making the turbo lazy but the new one is allowing the turbo to spool to its full potential.
The turbo in question is a highflowed T3. It starts boosting about 2200rpm and really comes on about 2700-2800rpm which is about 800-900rpm earlier than it used. Could this be the problem? The car has standard injectors, fuel pump and lines. Ive recently bought a rising rate reg hoping this may solve the problem but i'm not convinced it will. I'm quite concerned that my car may be leaning out. Any advice from the gurus would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
