ems 8860 serial cable

hey guys, does any1 know if the 8860 uses a standard serial cable with both ends being female, im trying to verify that it is getting power and has the correct settings before doin a complete install. The cable i have used is a standard serial cable with a gender changer at one end, if the cable required is different can any1 supply me with a wiring diagram, i dont wanna fork out $30 for just a cable worth $2.
