W58 shifter sloppy

Hey all,
In my ma61, the gearstick is so slack that you can put it in gear and the stick nearly returns back to where it looks like its in neutral.
I was wondering how to fix the excessive slop. I wouldn't think it would be just the bushing at the bottom of the stick.
The box from what I can tell has had a hard time, a lot of the syncros are worn out.
Thanks, hopefully someone knows what is going on.
PS. Hopefully Norbie doesn't slap my ass with SEARCH... as I have checked the w58 faq section and searched with litte result
