I think they mean what generation of engine do you have in the car. That way people can be more specific about advice pertaining to particular engines. So is it a 4a, 3s, 1j, etc.

G4EC2 is the engine listed for the Getz. Unless thats the US Getz. Regardless i doubt there will be any cam profiles for it. Do the usual of making it breathe better.

It can't be the same engine. Because the biggest engine the getz has is a 1.5L and i have a 1.6L On the site i looked at has 2 different engines for the getz and accent and it was a the australian version.

Sell the car and buy a boys car with the money you get plus $1000
I'm pretty sure aftermarket parts will have to be custom made as these cars weren't meant to go fast.
Short of helping it breathe better there is very little you can do.
unless u want to spend more than $1000

Hunty, that must be a shit accent if it is only doin 14sec with all the shit done to it. I know a guy that runs a boosted accent and does low 15's in full street trim, including his 150dB stereo.

geez you boys are harsh...
if you had a welder, it'd cost maybe $3-400 to make up extractors and a new exhaust yourself.
then take out your cams and get stellite regrinds done (they may not last tho). look at the intake tract and determine where it is restrictive (if it is) and go from there.
you just need to make it breathe more efficiently int he rev range you want..
and if none of this makes sense, then you have a lot of reading to do. start with Bills page i guess

it's also producing 8kw less than an engine that was designed and produced over 15 years ago and in the most basic form might I ad.

i said over 15, 22 is over 15 i didn't want to take an excat stab at it cos someone would say no your wrong, but yeh old engine but pretty good.
Old corolla's i understand the notion of torque being closer. I doubt the hyundai would be that quiet, one of my mates who has an elantra said that my corona was quiet compared to the hyundai the 22re isn't exactly quiet.
We know numerous ppl who have hyundai's driven sedately serviced to the book and with low k's yet the engines are developign weird noises and parts are starting to come loose, ie badges side stripes, dash etc.
If you want an engine to modify i wouldn't really bother with the hyundai as you'll spend lots of money to be left with an engine that won't take a caning and will fall apart.

heres the link
http://blog.krippledkonscious.com/sub-14.php?cat=6
looks like its not a hyundai after all its a nissan poo banger, eh same diff *gets in flame proof suit*
low 15's for a custom boosted beast isnt that great, even with a big stereo. you'd want better perfomance than that for the amount of $$ it would cost, well i would anyway
it also begs the question WHY? eh each to their own i guess

Hyundai? Ask RPW (Racing Performance Works), they have a website and cater for those perverse souls who enjoy modding these ugly country cousins to the mitsubishi. $1000 bux should get something, maybe? Probably not enough to entertain tho.
