hi guys i've always thought i have an aus-spec st185.
until the other day i noticed a sticker inside of my engine bay..
it reads 'ADR Compliance Plate in luggage compartement' or something along those lines. I can check for the exact thing if you like.
but yeh does this come on all GT4s or was mine imported from japan?
it is a widebody st185, which is why i always thought that it was a aus-spec.
what do you think ?

That sticker should appear on all Aus delivered ST185's.
The Toyota dealers were supposed to install it on the strut tower brace.
The actual compliance plates should be on drivers side of the spare wheel well.
Other than the compliance plates if you look at the build plate there will be a model code that says something like:
ST185R-BLMQZQ - Aus delivered ST185 Group A
ST185R-BLMVZQ - Aus delivered ST185 (standard GT4)
ST185H-BLMQZ - JDM ST185 Group A (Widebody)
etc. etc.

Dude,
As you probably know, all Celicas are imported to Australia.Unlike some Camrys,Corollas,Coronas and Crowns they are all fully imported.
The difference is whether they were imported by Toyota Australia or were a "grey" used import.
If the Compliance plate has Toyota Australia stamped on it then it is Australian delivered.
If it has some other company name like XYZ Motors, then it is a Grey or 2nd hand import.
Some ST185's have been imported used from Japan, but I think they are all narrow body unlike yours.
Cheers
T.

Another easy way - on your iontercooler cover - does it just say twin entry turbocharger - or something like that - with no mention of ceramic's ?
most aus specs also didnt get electtric seats - or massif speaker pods in the doors - which suck ..
but my guess is yours is aussie from the pics ive seen

mine doesnt even have a sunroof.. forget about the electric seats.
hehe i kinda miss not having a sunroof after driving my old celica.
also the little light just next to the sunroof switches was so handy too.

noddles - OH OT a little but re your group A bar - I havent seen a second hand one for ages mate ..
i know of a black one in melb but i believe its being used as the car its going on needs some repairs shortly ( possible full driveline swap )
you can order most parts thru toyota genuine - but they arent cheap - budget for a at least a grand to $1200 in parts alone ..
