Corona MKII Engine conversion. . . . . Tue, 22 March 2005 10:30 Go to previous message
Howdy guy's, new member. Been doing a little research on putting a 7MGTE into my '73 MkII Corona and to the best of my knowledge it's a straight forward conversion using 4m/5m engine mounts. Few questions though.

1) Mine has the 12R four cylinder. Is there any difference between the 4cyl and 6cyl crossmembers?? That is, can I simply bolt the 6cyl engine mounts onto the 4cyl crossmember?

2)I've read that the W58 box fits in the stock tunnel nicely. But my car is auto and I want to keep it that way - will the toyota 4-speed fit as easily as the w58? I don't mind fabricating a new mount but I don't want to make a new tunnel. If I only have to beat it a little, that's fine Razz

Cheers
Matt

Pic of the car for anyone interested. Big pic
