Mx62 stereo wiring

Okay, after spending half a day and being ready to tear my hair out and throw things around, I need a hand. I have an mx62 cressida and a Pioneer DEH-P9450MP head deck that I want to put in it.
Now I had a wiring diagram sent to me for these models, but I'm not sure if its correct. The Pioneer has a Battery +12, an Accessory, an Illuminate, Mute, and then the wires for the speakers. I need to know which colour wires need to be hooked up to what. Im testing the lines with a multimeter and Im getting wierd readings....cant seem to get a solid 12v out of any wire, or it shows up and then when I wire them up it drops dramatically.
Anyone with these cars care to help? Id REALLY appreciate it, since a car witout tunes is...well, just a car -_-
