Fuel pump installation Tue, 12 April 2005 06:37 Go to previous message
Well, I'm coming down to the business end of my conversion now, having actually got all the parts together finally! Just a question regarding the fuel pump I should use.

Basically at the moment I have: an 18R fuel system, including mechanical pump, an 18RG(EU?) fuel pump with one hole blocked off and an electric fuel pump from repco (brand new, this woul dprobably be best?).

My 18RGEU has a plate bolted onto the side of it where the mechanical pump goes, I was thinking it might be easier if I use the external electric pump instead of swapping a mechanical one onto the block. The new engine will have 40mm Mikuni-Solex carbs on it.

Will this work? Where should I mount it? Will the stock fuel lines suffice? Anything I need to watch out for?
