Brake shudder/car shudder.

for all you brake gurus out there....helped my mate replace his rotors and pads in the front of his car - basically to no avail.
when you put your foot on the brake the car shudders - the steering wheel or brake pedal DO NOT - whole frigging car shudders/vibrates like its going to fall apart (typical commodore)
took out the ABS fuse - in case the ABS circuit was causing issues or something - no change.
when the brakes are cold as - is ok - as soon as they heat up - crap. same problem.
only thing i can think of is its the rear rotors causing this problem......
any ideas out there?
