that damage doesnt look very minor.....

The motor isnt worth 2500 - The wreckers I used to work at would supply a gtir front cut for 2500 delivered to your door with 6month warrenty! 
Anyhows i need a new runabout so -
how much rego is left?
Is it out of rego?
How bad is the damage is it just the boot or is the chasis bent?
How are the tyres? suspension? driveshafts?
Does it need much for rego?
Any oil leaks? When was the timming belt/chain done? hows
compression? hows the headgasket?
Hows the clutch?

Come on think bout it...repair it wont cost much, replace boot n spray would be under 1k.
Re-rego wiv blue slip at the worst would be 1k.
Thats 4.5k for a car that is worth nearly twice as much.
N if ur fussy bout the engine being shit, then get a front cut like u said n do a conversion and itll still be under cost price of a second hand on now wiv some balls
