Non Toyota Problem - O2 Sensor for CA20E S12 Fri, 29 April 2005 03:44 Go to previous message
Hi

I know its not a toyota but we are stuc with this problem.

My GF bought this 1984 Nissan Gazelle or also know as Silvia S12
its got a CA20E engine.

the problem is that the O2 Sensor is not connected to anything, the wire is just hangin loose and I cant find the wire that needs to be connected to it. It's a single wire by the way.

Now according to the previous owner they bought a new engine and installed it. The engine is running but idling rough. The car accelerates very very very slow.

Now I'm thinking that they probable didnt upgrade the ECU from the old one to the new ECU as the old engine (models before 1986) doesnt have O2 sensor from what I've heard. And the engine installed right now has an O2 sensor meaning this must be from 1986 above model.

so my question how hard is it to make this engine run as it should be running normally.

I have to buy new ECU? then re-wire the entire car's electric or New ECu and just a little addition of extra wires? or can I tweak my old ECU?

also if someone by any chance have an ECU diagram or pinout connector diagram. I got the ECCS from datnet.org already

if anyone could help me out that would be great.

I'm located in Brisbane

Thank you very much.

sorry for the long post.
