clutch woes

i recently bought a 4age pressure plate for my 2tg 3t hybrid, thinking it should have a little mroe clamping pressure than my old tires 3t-c pressure plate being a newer clutch out of a engine nearly twice as powerful
so i tested out the clutch in the backyard today, spun through 1st gear, slammed second to have the engine rev out as usual, only the wheels werent spinning, clutch was!
what i was wanting to know is WHY?
has anyone else put in a 4age clutch to a 2tg/3t?
only reason why i can think it wouls slip is a shonky pressure plate or maybe 4age use a thicker clutch plate?
i wont be able to use the 4age clutch plate as it has a different amount of slines to the sprinter t-50
