Hi guys
Unfortunately after many years of owning Toyotas, and indeed most of them being Coronas, the time has come to sell the last one, my RT142.
1986 Toyota Corona RT142
22RE 2.4l EFI
4sp Automatic (Overdrive)
Station Wagon
CD player
It is prettymuch the perfect daily driver as it is fuel injected, has a CD player, is a good-for-carrying-stuff wagon and even has aircon. It also has a few months rego on it if I remember, as I paid six months in late February... proibably 3-4 months left on it.
It uses bugger all fuel, blows no smoke, and apart from having needed a new alternator it hasn't missed a beat. The new alternator was actually NEW and not a reco - it cost me over $300 from memory. It has a brand new water pump and new timing chain, chain guides & tensioner.
The car also comes with a set of Sony 6x9's that I was given - I have run the wires but haven't had the time to get speaker boxes to put them in.
What's wrong with it?
The main reason I am selling is that I haven't driven the car in six weeks, simply because I have no need for it any more as I have a motorbike.
As far as problems there is only one that really needs attention, and that is from when I changed the timing chain, when unfortunately the gasket didn't seal so there's an oil leak that needs fixing. A replacement gasket is something like $12. Um...... *thinks* there's also an oil drip from the output shaft on the auto, but I have the seal for that and it's about a 15 minute job. I honestly just can't be arsed fixing these little as I am working too much at the moment and need my weekends to de-stress.... so someone here gets a good car for bugger all.
Um... *really searching for problems to list*.....there's a dodgy wire on the cold start injector, but it's such a little problem I've had the car for a year and never bothered to fix it.
Seeking $1500 but if someone is serious I would be happy to negotiate for a quick sale so make an offer. To put it in perspective, it is currently insured for $4500 so I reckon it's a pretty good deal. If you need a place to keep the car for a week or two I can probably deal with that.
Please do not PM me on here or reply to this thread as I read these forums about once a month at best.
