How much brake fluid?

I want to do a full bleed of my aw11 brake and clutch. How much fluid do you think I need?
I'm going to go with a DOT 4 variety as it seems to be the general consensus (use DOT4 and change it often), am I on the right track?
Also, from what I've read when doing the brakes: you bleed the furthest brake from the master cylinder first (and so on until you've done them all) and you bleed until you see the new fluid. How noticeable will the new fluid be?
Cheers,
Dave

Get 2 x 500ml bottles.
The colour change will/should be quite noticeable.
