that looks like a 262 to me.
they arent 9.8 compression.
they are 8.4

your absolutly right.
262 have 8.4 compression.
but i have seen with my own eyes that this one has 9.8 stamped on the pistons when i had the head recond.
this engine is a bit of a bitza as far as i can tell, numbers range all over teh place.
but she pulls hard and runs a beauty so im not complaining.

well, that makes not much sense, as the 262 head cant have the normal style pistons in it, due to the offcentre combustion chamber, it would smash if so.
im just a little confused.

the head is unnumbered.
and doesnt have off centre combustion chambers.
i think i would remember that when i took the head off.
so i dont thinkits a 262.don't be fooled by the cam cover.
ive run this motor for over a year and its never missed a beat.
as i said before it pulls hard and runs great,
