FS: 10" Precision Subwoofer. Double Magnet $90!!! Wed, 18 May 2005 14:48 Go to previous message
This is a 10" precision Sub..
Jaycar sell the 12" versions but not the 10" anymore.. This is a great driver, Specs are very similar to the 12" version, slightly less...
The cone: 4mm thick non-pressed coated paper that can withstand huge excursions with minimal flex or break-up.

The magnet: Two 1.41Kg totalling a massive 2.82Kg.

The basket: Thick heavy duty cast aluminium with zero flex, even under the most horrendous driving conditions.

The backing plate: 19mm thick (most woofers are, on average, 8-10mm). This gives excellent linearity.

Pole piece: A flared vent at the rear increases air movement to cool the voice coils.

Dual voice coils: Give you 3 different wiring options to best suit your amplifier. Dual 4-ohm voice coils give you

greater system wiring flexibility. Connect the voice coils to achieve an impedance that ideally suits your amplifier.

Single voice coil mode: Allows you to wire each 4-ohm voice coil to each channel of your amplifier. Eg. when using

one woofer with a 2 channel amp.

Parallel voice coil mode: Wiring the voice coils in parallel, to present a 2 ohm load, allows you to extract maximum

power from a high-current, 2 ohm stable, amplifier.

Series voice coil mode: Wiring in series gives each speaker an 8-ohm load. If you wire the two 8 ohm subs in parallel, you get a 4 ohm load that’s suitable to utilise on the bridged output of a 2 channel amplifier.
