URGENT HELP! in regards to rear tailgate on seca ae92

Hey guys I need to know if this is possible.
I am trying to take off my rear garnish (plastic light panel) on my tail gate on a AE92 Seca.
But the when I try and undo the nuts on the inside of the boot the bolt just spins. It seems like there is nothing holding the top of the bolt from inside the garnish
is it even possible to take the garnish off? i just need to know as I have to take the car to the painters tomorrow at 830am
