Spray painting advice Sun, 29 December 2002 13:07 Go to previous message
Hi Everybody,

My brother in law and I started spraying his Datsun 1600 today and have come across a few dramas in the process. I am hoping someone might be able to tell me what the hell is going on. We are using an acrylic gunmetal grey thinned in a 1:2 ratio i.e. 1 litre paint to two of thinners, we are painting at 30psi. The problems that we have come across are:

- we are on the third coat and there still appears to be patchy areas
- the paint is kinda rough
- the gun has a bizarre pulse to it although everything is clean and tight

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We are going to have to leave it till Wednesday now before we can put the final coat on. Then we will be putting the clear coat on.

Thanks for your help and advice

Daniel
