You need a tacho booster from Sixworks or the like.

What he said.
I'm lucky enough to have one in my 7M MA61 and it works like a treat - but just be aware that it is not entirely accurate. It's close enough to be useful though.

Yeah I tested it on a dyno. Sat the car at 1,000 rpm, calibrated the dyno, then reved it out. At 5,500 rpm it's off by about 200 rpm. Not too bad though.

Random, I've hit the cutout on my car and it happened at 7200rpm on the tacho. Perhaps you have a defective one

If there is any inaccuracy it's more likely to be in the 80's-style tacho electronics than in the booster.

Grants one from Sixworks is cheaper and it is locally made, not some yank POS.
Mine works fine !!! (in test mode.....)

The big holdup at the moment is the welding of the alloy radiator and the last bit of IC piping.
I am waiting on some electrical terminals to finish rewiring the main battery feeds and supplies, then I can wire in the thremofans.
In all, it should only be a solid weekends work, but it will probably stretch out to another 2 months ....
It IS getting closer though .....
