I'm in the midst of fitting a used SC14 supercharger to my 1988 Volvo 240. I need some info if anyone can help. 1. With the vent system on the oil reservoir and shaft ends, what is the logic that Toyota use as far as allowing the bleed valve to be open? I have the valve which is connected to the 3 vent ports by rubber hoses, but I need to know when to allow the valve to be open. 2. Does anyone know a place in the Melbourne area who can make (or has ready-made) crankshaft pullies to suit the 5-rib serpentine belt used to drive the supercharger? Likewise for an idler pulley? 3. The engine I got the SC from (1G-GZE) has the SC downstream of the throttle plate. I am planning to have the SC upstream of the throttle plate. Are there any concerns/issues I should be aware of? For example, if the supercharger is engaged and putting out X psi of boost at part throttle, then I take my foot off the accelerator (essentially blocking the output of the SC), what happens? Do I need a blow-off valve? 4. What cars was the 1G-GZE engine fitted to? Is it possible to buy a workshop manual in Australia for these cars?
