Hi,
I have a 1j in a boat, I'm starting to get the bugs out one by one, my problem now is with it get to 4000-4500rpm and is starting to make boost,( I have had it rev to 6000rpm, but you have to feather the throttle a little) starts to miss under throttle, I've checked the map, computer, igniter on a car all is fine, put new plugs in as well, turnt the boost up to 14 psi, and down to 6 psi) As with may race boats ( and ones I've had in the past)I dont use a alternator,, could it be that I am not getting enough power for the spark plugs once it's under boost???, ie, 12.5 volts, as apposed to around 14.5 with an alternator, we were going to try unpluging the alternater fuse in a friends Supra to see how it would run, but we couldn't get it out, nor get to the alternater to unplug it there,
