Squealing 21R (problem found!)	Tue, 07 June 2005 05:47

Hi all, http://www.overclockers.com.au/~mwp/temp/dead-21r. avi Its 4Mb. Anyone know what the cause of that noise would be? As far as i can tell its coming from the top/back of the rocker-cover. i didnt watch the video but... possibly just a hose loose/cracked on the inle mainfold/carby somewhere. i had the same problem with my 18rg, then it came back just recently whan i fount the 4 bolts in the balance tube had worked them selves loose another possibility: alternator fin bent out. that can do it another possibility: you might have a frog stuck in your alternator [Report message to a moderator]

Gotta love these old engines and cars! Took me a whole 2.5hrs to remove inlet, exst manifolds, etc and then remove the head Before: Half way: The problem: Easy to see one of the cam-shaft bearing caps is well worn, and the nick in the bearing surface on the camshaft.
