4AGTE Turbo Sun, 12 June 2005 13:08 Go to next message
I have a AE101 4AGZE and looking for the best turbo for it, this is a pure drift car and just looking for response. I want to make a max of 160rwkW but dont want to strain my turbo getting that. What would be the best turbo for this power, i was wondering T28 but didnt know which one....

T28BB of S14 / S15 (maybe high flowed)
Garret GT28R
Garret GT28RS (disco potatoe)

its going into a KE70 i think so yes it will be a drift car

a T28 or a GT28R/GT28RS with a .64 housing will be perfect

Any of those turbos mentioned will net you the kind of rwhp that you are looking for easily. I dare say that you would get away with a 0.48rr housing and still easily achieve those numbers.

edit/ response can be largely affected by engine tune.

0.48 - but ball bearing so quicker spool up even than a thrust type bearing 0.48 t28 (off a s14 or 13 for instance)

The Disco Potato (GT28RS) is default with the .8 housing the smaller .6 is the option.

Response is tricky, the GT25 is smaller (320Hp) might be worth a look, but the Potato (350Hp) has a better spooling reputation. Mind you that is on an SR20, but with the default 'big' housing.

By golly what a difficult choice.

Best bet is to find someone with either and get their opinion.

Is that only cause you've never been in one with some power?

In my personal opinion i would go for the s15 gt28 if you only want 160rwkw. On my 4agte this made 177.8rwkw. Although, i did have a lot of work done to mine.

Just bite the bullet and and get a turbo with a bit more go. My 4agte made 205rwkw in the end and it was the best fun ever Very Happy
