are the brakes dragging or catching on something? if you jack the car up can you freely spin the wheels?

just checked the wheels as you said, they turn freely...
the rpm or engine speed will somewhat dive when release my foot of the gas pedal.

Maybe you could have a look at the engine mounts, could be knackered. ???

Im no expert but it sounds like your drivetrain, the gearbox or diff are shot?

my engine mounts are 3 months old. bought them brand new. OEM quality.

what about the hand brake??!
go for a drive and see if any of the brakes heat up more than they should be.

are you using a fuel controller at all?
