My fuel gauge shows amount of fuel accurately whilst the tank is near full but once the level goes down to about half full the needle drops immediately to empty. I figure this is probably a common problem and something to do with the sensor in the tank. Is the sensor easily accessed? Can the sensor be repaired? Are parts available if the sensor must be replaced? or is the problem likely to be somewhere else?
