Is this a decent price for sidedrafts? Mon, 27 June 2005 09:34 Go to next message
http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts /Toyota/Engines-drive-trains/auction-30032793.htm - its in NZ so thats (850NZD) 733UAD + Postage however its buy now is 1300 (1121AUD)

My mum works for NZ Post so postage wont be that hard to get or that expensive.

So would it be worth it? how much are the locally?

you can buy a brand new 45mm sidedraught weber for $500, here in aus..times that by 2, and its a grand. then buy a manifold. i just sold a HKS carby manifold for a bigport for $150.

all up, around $1200, and that's with BRAND NEW carbies...not some s/h junk..

twin dellortos with manifold should sell for around $500 ish
As for secondhand, the minute new ones are put on a car they are secondhand. The markup on new parts is up to 500%. If you only buy new you make yourself a victim.

agreed that as soon as new carb's are put on a car, they're secondhand...but at least you know the condition.

anyway, was just comparing what you COULD have for the same money, and if you were going to spend that much, you'd be better off buying new carbs.

imo anyway Very Happy
