You'll probably find very few people have done this in Aus because the 1g-gte torque output is pretty underwhelming for a heavy car like the MA70. Better options would be 7M-GTE, 1JZ-GTE, 2JZ-GTE or V8 goodness with a 1UZ-FE.

Prepare for disappointment.

1g-gte use AFM sensors, not MAP (or so i've found) so there's no boost sensor to look out for.

There's a few 1g-gte install guides into celica's around here <http://www.toymods.org.au/tech.html> but you'll have to sort out plumbing of air-con/power-steer lines yourself as it's an unfamiliar swap.

(edited to fix acronym)

Actually, it has a vane style AFM.

When it reaches the maximum opening of the AFM the "boost cut" is triggered, seems to last forever but it might just be 1 second or so Smile

I know all about the powerloss etc..I have my reasons for the swap..Car came standard with a 7MGTE, tired of head issues..Just wanted something different, and I could sell my 7MGTE with rodknock for the amount of a 1G-GTE swap, so I had to spend no money (cause i have none)..1JZ, 2JZ etc are way too expensive over here..Either way thechuckster, i knew about the AFM part, I just wasnt sure if it had a boost sensor or not, thanks for the info!
