1jz tacho problem Tue, 28 June 2005 13:36 Go to previous message
Hi guys,
I have just been trying to wire up my tacho. If you don't know it is a 1jz-gte engine running off a wolf 3d ecu and I have the jzx90 chaser dash in my car.

Since the car has been running the tacho would jump a little when I cranked the engine over and as soon as it started running it would go back to 0 and not move. I am not sure why but I assume it is dodgy wiring from dodgy mechanic.

So I thought I could fix this by running the tacho output from the wolf directly to the tacho.

The tacho output was on a plug which also has ignition ground, ignition 1,2,3 &4. I cut the wire off for the tacho output and wired it directly to the tacho wire that I found from the jzx90 wiring diagram. I connected the ignition ground to ground.

Cranked it over and exactly the same thing happened? Didn't change a thing. Any idea on how to fix this?
