flooded hilux, wont start help Thu, 30 June 2005 06:24 Go to previous message
having some more pain in the ass trouble with my hilux
i fixed the reverse lights and switch a few days ago cos the guy doing the rego was been quite picky about it, so to check they were working correctly i kept turning the car to "on" instead of starting it, well good news thier working fine but now the car wont start. i briefly started it that night and it was running like a dog. cos i naturnally assumed it was flooded (old hilux but running EFI 18RGEU with big fuel pump)
well it was getting dark so i turned it off and went inside figuring it will be alright in the morning, but alas no i couldnt even get it cranks with the starter but just wont start.
its pissing down with rain here so i spose that doenst help.
other things i tried was playing around with the started, making usre my dumb ass mate didnt unplug anything from the haltech wen he nearly pulled the whole harness out (dam that guys a dick "i thought it was urr spare one and u kept the one that ran under the seat" like yeah i keep a fully tuned haltech under the dash just incase) i checked starter, alternator, i installed new battery terminals and everything is hooked up to it for the efi, all cables seem to be fine so the only thing i can think off is that its still flooded heaps. im no mechanic (my backgrounds panelbeating and i only did that for like 18 months) so maybe u guys can suggest something?
thanks
