dingaling Forums Junkie Location: tas Registered: June 2002	3sge valve stem seals and piston ring questions Thu, 30 June 2005 10:51 Toyota want about $150 for a new set of valve stem seals. I asked if 7m ones will fit as i have a spare 24 of the buggers. Toyota say that the intake are the same, the exuast ones are different. (might be the other way around, can't remember) So does anyone know if the valve stem seals are indeed different for the intake and exuast vavles? And if 7m valve stem seals will fit? Also this particular gen1 3sge is burning an unhealthy amount of oil but drives perfectly (ie no loss of power) I did do a quick and i mean real quick compression test on the number 1 cylinder on a cold engine and it came out at aroung 120PSI which did seem abit low, would you suspect the rings bieng worn and allowing it to burn so much oil? Will be doing a proper comp test this weekend. But would like to diagnose if it's valve stem seals or rings. Any tips would be appreciated. [Report message to a moderator]
