At one of my usual jaunts to the Car auction places here in Brisbane, I spied a rough but original and rust free '73 Crown, the vinyl top had come off but it was painted underneath, it was straight, dirty but everything worked except the A/C and started instantly with a twist of the key and no smoke, even putting it into Drive warranted no bangs, thumps or hesitations. In the glovebox was the original owners manual and a log book with evidence of religious servicing. Great car for the basis of mods I thought.
I was only looking so I thought it'd go for about $500 or something.
It sold for a grand sum of $75 I was kicking myself for weeks...still am actually
